I don’t think there’s a protagonist in videogames I think about more than Cole McGrath. Not because he’s particularly well-written. He’s got as much personality as a wooden board, especially in the first game. I’d even argue that the majority of his appeal comes from his cool design, the way Sucker Punch syncs his vast array of powers to the environments of Empire City or New Marais, and the very fact that he’s a nobody.
